18 hr day 6 hr night
You get to control the leanth of the plants day and night cycles, you do this with a good quality plug-in timer for your light by having the light on for 18 hours (day) and off for 6 (night), more commonly stated as 18/6, you switch over to 12/12 for the flowering cycle.

what they are talkign about there are plants other than cannabis , some plants like poppies for instance flower under 18/6 and veg under 12/12

cannabis relies more on getting 12 hours of sleep a night than it does about getting 18 hours of day , think of it as a stoner that likes to have a nap :P

if you run longer hours of light your plant may not flower or just take allot longer to finnish off , if your determined on using a longer ay cycle I would look for a strain that will automaticly switch over to flora without much encouragement
