The Crown has asked that a man sentenced to three years' jail for cultivating his second cannabis crop within two years be declared a drug trafficker.

Colin Jonathon Hennig grew 362 plants in a remote bush location, the Supreme Court heard.

Hennig, 36, pleaded guilty to cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis.

Justice Sally Thomas said Hennig had breached a June 2003 suspended sentence for cultivating cannabis and other drug charges.

She restored the unserved 18 months of that sentence.

For the latest crop, discounting the sentence for his guilty plea, she sentenced Hennig to three years' jail, concurrent with 18 months for the breach, and ordered that he be discharged after serving 15 months.

The judge backdated the sentence to October 13 last year for time served in custody.

The judge also ordered that all equipment used for the crop and Hennig's $8000 four-wheel-drive be forfeited.

She adjourned the application to declare him a drug trafficker to a date to be fixed.

The court heard that Hennig grew the crop in trackless bushland north of Cox Peninsula Rd, about 10km past the Dundee Beach turn-off.

Breeders require thousands of plants to effectively stabilise traits, considering that you need to grow out as many progeny as you possibly can to select the best for future generations.

A breeder who grows out 100 plants from a single cross will likely end up with lesser plants than the one who grows out a thousand and selects from those...

Hope he does ok. :detective2:

Poor guy, he must be spewing.

That's the only thing about having a good selection of strains-The plant numbers can get really high, which always makes me nervous. I mean, you have to keep mums of each strain, there's the clones you take for your next cycle (plus a few spare :detective2: ), and then there's the actual crop ( we normally go for about 10 plants) so if I add it up, there's been times when we've had over 100 plants, easy. And I'd hate to be caught with even half of that, because they automatically label you as a drug dealer when you have a large amount of MJ plants. Cops don't understand about keeping mums etc, nor do they give a shit.

cunts aren't they :thumbdown

i have 5 strains growing now, had to take a cutting of each plant last night to determine sex and all of a sudden, i have 24 plants :devilred: 1 more and i think i would be instantly a grower with intent to sell :detective2:

although if i get busted in say 3 weeks, all those cuttings will be gone, my males will be gone and the only plants i will have will be the cuttings i take from the females im growing...should put me back under the limit, never know though :gun2:
