Feds Sound New Warning About Marijuana Use

Recommended Posts

Realistically people should be informed on the truths about marijuana, not about unscientiffically proven stuff... Most of the stuff they come up with isnt proven, and they just try and scare people away from it thinking it will kill you.

Also notice how they will start with weed and accosiate it with heroin very quickly as if they will be ending using heroin if they use pot. :detective2:

Also these ads on tv are taken WAY over the top, yes i know heroin, ice etc are addictive but it doesnt fuck you up every time u use like OD'ing...

The pot one is taken over the top one 2.

The problem with the TV ads is that there are too many people out there who will believe anything they see on tv or read in a paper. I think it is sad that there are so many people who will not question the iformation given to them, rather they blindly accept and dont give a second thaught.

That's an effect of watching too much current affair. And a new generation has been propagandised against drugs so much it's hard to find anyone out there who'll stick their neck out and argue the case for the facts. :detective2:

The reason people OD on so called "hard" drugs is because there is an inconsistency in the purity. That's a direct result of prohibition, not intrinsic to the drug. If panadol was black market you'd see far more deaths as a result of OD'ing.

I really, really hate these ads "you never know what it will do to you", because every argument they use against it pretty much comes back to prohibition being the cause, not the use of these drugs themselves.

If anyone wants to really look into the FACTS about drug use in society, then I can highly recommend "SAYING YES : In defence of drug use" By Jacob Sullum. Perhaps that could be a new book in the booklist Oz? I find it the most coherent and well thought out argument for the repealing of the drug laws which have caused more harm than the drugs ever could.

Drugs don't kill people. Politicians kill people.

If i were to make a tv commercial about drugs, i would give them the real truths and facts and show them what are the positives and the negatives but gives the implimation that its up to you to take drugs or not.

I say to some people whats so good about alcohol when it kills thousands of people and ruins lives.

And sorry to be so negative, but just which TV station is going to air that commercial? It's useless trying to convince a market you don't have access to.

We just need to stop (kill if neccessary) these idiots spreading propaganda like infectious diseases.

When I recently asked a cop about why the current laws of cannabis prohibition, he said "Your lucky to live in Australia, where we have a Harm Minimilisation Policy, rather than a zero-tolerance one!"

Where's the harm minimilisation? only in prohibition (or a similar event) could this be achieved!!

It's harm minimisation, not minimalisation. And yeah, we are lucky. And no, it's not only through prohibition that this can be acheived. Alcohol, through all it's horrible affects, is in effect the same process.

True harm minimisation is through legalisation and regulation.

The sad and disgusting truth is that cannabis, and illegal drugs are illegal because there is a large body corporate which profits from this. You think you'd be buying cotton shirts if hemp was legal? Let alone pharmaceuticals.

Totally agree.

To be honest taking the "illegality" out of drugs makes them seem alot less attractive as kids always do things which society is against.

The government could make a shitload of tax profit off cannabis if it regulated the industry, plus think of how many people it would save going to jail.

It would also cost less and can be brougth locally thus saving money going to dealers which pay no atx on the money.

Its bullshit bacially, i personally believe canabis should be put in line with at least alcohol and tabacco with a rating of 18+.

Will it ever happen - proberly no. :sly
