Man appeals cannabis extradition

Recommended Posts

AN Adelaide man will appeal a court order to extradite him to Sydney to face charges over NSW's largest ever cannabis seizure.

The Adelaide Magistrates Court today ordered Michael Romeo be extradited to face Sydney's Central Local Court tomorrow.

But lawyers for Romeo immediately asked for a review of the extradition, meaning it has been put on hold.

Romeo's lawyers now have 72 hours to appeal the extradition order.

Romeo was to be extradited to face charges relating to the police seizure of 3.2 tonnes of cannabis from a private property at Jack's Creek, near Narrabri in western NSW, in April last year.

The drugs were estimated to be worth $45 million.

The Adelaide Magistrates Court today heard 19 people had already faced NSW courts in relation to the drugs.

Police are expected to seek the extradition of another Adelaide man to Sydney in relation to the cannabis crop later today.

hell if people would just grow their own, there'd be no need for shipments like that.

plus, commercial use is really just a way of spreadiing a lot of people's "personal uses" around.

i'm guessing there's some REAL fuckin' high cops somewhere, chowing down hardcore on some frosted donuts!!
