How to assess a company's digital maturity

Recommended Posts

Once the company's digital maturity has been analyzed, it is necessary to place it at a specific level, for which the training company has already developed a specific plan. Ideally, this training should be customized to each company's specific characteristics and objectives. However, in this section, we provide a basic and general overview of what training should look like based on the organization's level of digital maturity.

Limited level of digital maturity

At this level are companies that have barely begun their targeted leads  digital development. Their processes are mostly manual , and there is minimal online presence. Sometimes, we may even find organizations that still resist technological change , but not all organizations necessarily have this.

In short, companies with a limited level of digital maturity have not yet integrated digitalization into their business strategies, and their use of technological tools is limited or nonexistent. Therefore, the objective of the training program should be to raise awareness within the organization about the importance of developing digital skills and begin laying the foundation for implementing digital transformation.

The contents, in this sense, must be focused on:

Teach how to use basic digital tools

Raise awareness about the importance of digital transformation and best practices in the digital environment.

Initial level of digital maturity

Entry-level companies have begun to adopt basic digital tools and are aware of the importance of digitizing processes. However, they have only limited integration of these tools and their digital strategies are not clearly defined. In contrast, teams tend to be more open to change, so this is a positive point that facilitates training.

The goal, in this case, is to integrate digital tools into key processes , such as administrative and operational processes. Digital collaboration tools are also often introduced, and teams are encouraged to begin educating themselves about the importance of data analysis tools for making better decisions.

Intermediate level of digital maturity

In this case, we are at a level where companies have already standardized their processes and adopted advanced technological solutions . Furthermore, the teams understand and accept technology as an essential part of the business and often use data analysis to optimize processes.

The goal of training in this context is to optimize the use of tools already implemented. For example, it's common to strengthen the use of automation and take data utilization to the next level.

Advanced level of digital maturity

This level is very unique, as it includes companies that are leading the digital transformation in their sector, but that want to innovate and continue improving their digitalization to stay ahead. We're talking about companies that use technologies like AI or IoT and base their decisions on solid data.

In this case, training focuses on teaching the use of emerging technologies to create a real competitive advantage and on strengthening or improving the use of advanced technologies already in use. In addition, training is often offered on data governance and the ethical use of the digital environment.
