carbon filter or ozone generator ?

hey all

 

i was wondering what a carbon filter is, and what exactly it does ? does it remove the smell from your grow room ?

 

what about a ozone generator ?

 

does the carbon filter add onto the ducting of your exhaust fans ?

 

does it make much noice ?

I just purchases an ozone generator. I havent set it up properly yet but I did turn it on for 10 minutes in my grow room and 20min later all smell was gone and a day later it is still not back to the level it was previously.

 

As for which is better - depends on your situation. A carbon filter is very good if you can exhaust your grow room through a single duct. Attach the filter to this and all the air being removed is filtered for odour.

 

I chose an ozone generator becasue my set-up involves a couple of closets and a cloning area in a spare room - so this way I can just put the ozone gen in the room and vent my closets into the room where the odour is nuturalised - then vent the room into the ceiling via an exhaust fan. Ozone can be hazardous to your health though so its not something you can have going whilst your in the room.

best option is not to have ozone generator in grow room at all but have it connected inside the duct after the fan and filter.

 

so you would have. Filter/fAN/ozone gene/10m+duct to outside.

 

If you have positive pressure going into the filter you will not get any leaks out of the grow room of smell as its all going into the filter and then the little bit that remains as your filter gets old the ozone gene will pickup, but you need the 10meters of duct before it expells it outside to mix the ozone with the smelly air propley.

 

The best ozone gene's are the inline type with a variable switch.

 

Also, you dont need ozone in the vegie/clone/mum rooms - only the flore and drying rooms.

 

Also - the silver bullet and skunkbuster type of genes are shit, the amount they produce u could suck on it and it would not hurt ya - not worth the money 450 dollars- get a inline gene and switch it down real low for small ops (750 dollar).
