Filters..

Recently i heard that filters are really quite bad in your joints as they soak up the thc basically giving you dead smoke. It was explained away one day to me as this "In the old propaganda films they always told you to smoke with filters...so of course you shouldnt use them."

 

Now i'm not one to nit pick as i have never used them myself and prefer ROACHIES made from the rollie pack, But i have read that other members on here do use filters. What gives ?

Whats everyones oppinion of these cancer-slowing-down-pieces-of-fiberglass-that-crystalize-your-lungs-and-make-your-sperm-lazy....

 

oh wait that last one was weed propaganda...why do people use these things ?

There's a small trade off when using filters they will actively filter out the tar... but at the same time they will also filter out a small bit of thc too (to what kind of extent would depend on other variables too; toke speed, draw size, paper burning speed etc etc.)

 

 

You could cut a filter in half and it would still work in a similar way, but it would filter out less tar+thc.

 

 

Alternatively you could just use a roach (by comparison, roaches filter out pretty much fuck all tar ) the idea behind roaches is mainly to stop loose tobacco+weed from going into your mouth as you draw....

When we've had no other supplies I'ved used emptied cigarrettes plenty of times...still get you stoned, but nowhere near as tasty as smoking a roach rolled joint... thinking about it yeah you also had to smoke more...so more wasteful. Also definitely cut the butt in half if you have to use a cigarrette, but most bought filters are already about this size.

Yeah, I prefer my spliff with a roach, much tastier! I reckon using a filter would be a waste of time with MJ, why waste the THC?

I agree in full with chev, spliffs with roaches really are a pain, i mean, if we're fucking our lungs anyway, why not get the ultimate high?

I LOVE the roach. I order special stationary supplies at work (which then go...missing) of this thick card that cut in a certain way gives a PERFECT roach every time and is easy to roll. And you get about 20+ roaches from 1 x A4 sheet.

 

I really like to mix my bongs and J's up a fair bit. I love rolling a fat spliff, I love punching the ultimate mega packed cone. Anyone would think I was a stoner
