you know thoeslittle 80mm computer fans ? can get them off ebay for like $5.

 

i was wondering what othercomponentsdoyou need tomake that fan run ?

 

could i use that fan as an intake/exhaust for my grow room ?(im using half a cupboard)

 

how would i get it to work ?

wouldn't work very well and best source of power for those things is a computer power supply rewired closely followed buy a 12 volt or 2 six volt bateries and connect them in together

You'd be better off buying a 240v ready 125mm computer style fan. Most hydro shops should have em for about 25-35 bucks. About 8.7 lps, good for a micro grow or mother room.

 

Like pure said, computer fans will need wiring up, whereas a ready fan would just need plugging in. Not to mention probably moving a heck of a lot more air.

growing on the cheap i've used pc fans most of the time, often salvaged out of old 486 type pc's, for power i've benn using an old phone charger, need around 12 volts i think,

lower voltage will make the fan run slower, to high and things will burn, my last set up used 2 inlet pc fans atached to a home made reducer (used plastic bottle) and into 2.5 meters of 50mm each pipe up into the roof ( i think drawing the air through the pipe at speed and distance cools the air some), passive exaust, and a desk fan in the grow area, it did get a little warm during the peak of summer, had i made an exaust similar to the inlet it would of bein perfect,
