Which is exactly what they're used for. Or they would make a damn good mother room light too.

Adding a couple of the marine blue 14000 K bulbs to the outer edges of a 600w hps growroom, with a couple of vertical shades, would do a lot to balance out the spectra, increasing the total PAR available.

But I can conceive of using one as a main growroom light for a micro system. May even be more effective than a micro (150w or less) hps unit, plus you can change bulbs half way through when you'd be flowering, and not have to buy a whole new ballast. Incidentally, these are self ballasted, just requiring an adaptor plug, as they're built with the same plugs as you see on HID ballasts, with a round base pin.

Aaaanyway, as to ferengi's specific question regarding PAR watts, I've enquired of the OZ supplier directly and he'll be getting back to me within 2 weeks with that info. There's a major convention on the Gold Coast this weekend, Maximum Yeild Indoor Gardening Expo, so he's a little busy @ the mo, but he has assured me that they'll be able to find that particular tidbit and supply it for me.

In the meantime, I've also got the spectrum output for these lamps, with the ideal spectral make up below. :D Interestingly, when speaking to this guy, he said that it's likely quite possible to get better results using the 14000 for growing rather than the 6400, and when you look at what the output is in the image, you can see why. :D

Here's the pic, hope that helps somewhat ferengi, I'll get back to ya about the PAR watts when I hear. ;)
