Aero cloner with pics

G'day all,

 

Have seen alot a people struggle to make new clones with rockwool - this aero cloner method is allmost fullproof and at leat 90-100% success rate guaranteed

 

 

Items needed:-

 

40 litre black fish box with lid $12.00 - bunnings

small power head $25.00 - mitre 10

pack of sprayers $2.00 - bunnings

hose $2.5 - bunnings

hose fittings $4.0 - bunnings

40mm neofoam rod (from clark rubber) $6.0 for 1.5m

Have a flouro over cutts for 18 on 6 off (i use 125watt compact fluro)

pump on 24/7

ph'ed water only until roots appear (in pic it has been 5 days and roots just starting to appear)

1/4 strength nutes after that

cut slot in foam and plane cutt in centre.

Before starting rinse everything with anti fungal wash

Do not mist plants at all

 

This cloner does 40 cutts at a time, cutts in pic are NLXBB.

thanks Jack, great timing, I am going to make one of these myself in the next month. Got bunnings and clark rubber closeby too

Got a Q though. U use a spray system when the ones I read about in overgrow use just bubbles, any reason why u went with the pump?

hey bro,

 

I found that the sprayers work better then large airstones to airrate and mist the roots of plants.

 

Also the pump keeps the water warm - no need for a heater.

 

Just keep everything really clean - wipe out everything with antifungal - otherwise you will get root rot because the water temp is warm to get roots to sprout.

great set up jack , so if that pumps on 24 hours ... you spraying those stems all the time ? what's the depth of water you start off with ? Is it a real fine mist or just a spray ? thanks mate just a couple of q's .

I put enough water in to cover pump and leave sprayer exposed.

 

Yes pump is on 24/7

 

Droplet size would not be a fine mist, but a very small droplet in size - the finer he mist the more it can block up the sprayer - I got the 360 degress sprayers from bunnings. - but generally the finer the better - I suppose if you put a larger powerhead on the unit it woul be more finer - but the $20 pump seems to be working fine.

the morning of the ninth day..

 

I recken I will pulling 90% by 14 days to start vegie growth

 

I added about 2 litres of veg growth nutes from my Mother Plant tank today just so they have a really weak feed when added to the water in aerocloner.

 

Also forgot to turn pump on all day yesterday, the plants all fell on there arse - all I did was mist the leaves and turn pump on - and they are all standing up stright now (10 hours later). Also I think this actually caused the roots to grow slightly faster, but would not reccomend donin it.
