Charges over 2 million dollar crop

A MAN has been charged following a police raid in Sydney last night in which cannabis with a street value of $2 million was seized as well as sophisticated hydroponic equipment.

Police said they searched a house in River Road, Revesby, in Sydney's south-west, about 5.30pm yesterday, and found more than 400 cannabis plants and the growing equipment.

 

A 24-year-old man arrested at the scene was charged overnight with cultivating and possessing a commercial quantity of drugs.

 

He was refused bail and will face Burwood Local Court today.

honestly I totally back personal growers or even a few plants like up to 100 max. but 400 is just asking to be busted.

ZIm not against people making a few $$ out of growing, but I dislike dickheads who have 400 plants in ONE spot.

thats just dumb and makes marijuana look worst than it really is. busts like this do nothing to help out cause.

 

The first thing I learnt when I was growing for $$ outdoors was, not to leave more than about 50 plants in one area. especially in a house.

$5000-00 is only about 14 ozs which can easily be pulled off a plant.

Most 600 watt lights should produce roughly a pound per plant. :reallyexcited:

 

 

based on a street value of $350-00 x 14 = $4900.00 :scratchin

and that a Pound is equal to 16ozs. that makes it less than a pound per plant.

 

But yea, it stinks that they over value it so badly, but its part of this game we play mate.

Ok firstly they must of counted every clone as a plant!!

 

Second those plants arnt that big being fair to the grower maybe 5 ounces tops each plant

 

So even if it was 400 x 5 ounces thats 2000 ounces /16 = 125 pounds even with every room filled of a house a house line only has 100amps so the maximum lighting you could pull even stealing the power would be less than 25kw of lights leaving no room for pumps fans ect with a very high chance of burning your house down pulling that much from the line.

 

At the very most getting top price in bulk 3200 a pound now thats top price for over 10 pounds you wouldnt be paying more than 3000 for 125 x 3000 = $375 000

 

You do the math all over estamations it doesnt add up to 2 million dollars maybe if he sold it all in $20 bags but who in there right mind would do that.

 

To be honest there is no way in hell he was pulling 125 pounds from his house.

 

More likely 30 to 40 at the very most every 3 months

 

Once again the news was informed and were there to film trying to say that every grower becomes a millionare doing a house.

 

FFS it was in revesby lmfao he certainly wouldnt be growing there if he was making millions.

Now I know he would have clones etc in this but it says plants not clones and since we know each 600 light can produce a pound then-

400 x (350x16)= 400 x 5600= 2240000.

 

It would be hard to do like tartass said because of the power problems. but its not impossible.

 

But this guy may have had these in a greenhouse? it doesnt say.

Ferengi ive done many houses and even bigger warehouses on 3 phase 35kw of lights ........altho im not going to go on about it because i know commercial growing is frowned upon by some over here just saying im speaking from experience.

 

You cant work it out on $350 an oz because anyone growing large scale off loads in pounds or kilos so pound prices should be calculated not ounce prices.....................ouch you guys still pay 350 an ounce yucky ......anyways

 

If i was to off load 125 pounds it would be sold in lots of 20 or more at around 2800 each.

 

Unfortunalty n.s.w classifys a clone as a plant and most consider a plant to produce 1 pound.

 

The video clip from the news article shows indoor lighting not green house ....also revesby, ive been that way you couldnt get away with a greenhouse in your backyard there.

 

Other considerations is cooling you cant do alot of lights without aircon even growing in the middle of winter.

 

Aircon chews alot of power also.

 

 

 

Also i do beleive the guy was living there so other electrical appliances stove/hotwater/and everything else must be drawn from the 1 phase line.Reducing the total number of lights that can be achieved from a house.

 

 

From experience 125pounds from a house is impossible 30 to 40 is more likely

Ok averaging 4.2 amps for say a 1000watt light, 25 lights is over 100amps, but lets say he was able to get all 25 lights going . At 1gm a watt average thats 25kilos or aprox 55 pounds.

 

Work on the lights not the plant numbers for total yield.
