Easy, cheap grow system

Recommended Posts

Great thread Ferengi420!

It's great to see people share knowledge, so others don't have to buy some high prized gear from the growshop!

Just a question:

You don't need the non return valve if you position your air pump higher than your res

I never used a return valve and never hung my pumps higher than the res.

My Airline enters (or better used to) my buckets from the lid (top), so this part of the airline was the highest, acting as an syphon. Is this ok? Never had the case that water would enter it.

Anyways, thanks for sharing and keep up the good work,

As an extra precaution and you can never be too careful ;)

if the pump is lower then the res andf you get a power cut or something then the water will normally syphon to the lowest point eg- it will fill the pump up with water. then the power comes back on whilst the pump is full of water and BANG!!

well at best it will blow the houses fuse etc.

at worst it may catch fire.

to test this turn your airpump off and wait to see of the water tries to go out of the bucket towards the airpump.

but if the air pump is lower than the res it should. :scratchin

but for the sake of 50cents or something you can buy the no-return valves from a pet shop.

Point taken Ferengi!

Safety first!

I was in DWC, which is different to ebb&Flow, i.e. the water would never be above the lid where my airline enters... but still, under bad conditions this could have caused troubles (pump fails and cold weather, the remaining air in the hose contracts and pulls the water towards the pumps... sorry for rambling, can ya tell i'm stoned? ;) ).

tanks for your answer,

That pic shows three plants.

as far as the boxes go you can easily grow 4 plants. however this many plants so close blocks out the light.

So i now have only 2 in each box at once.

I got more of having one plant in that system than I did having 3 plants.

but I was growing in a very tight spot.

I would have to measure the boxes, but they are about 600mm x 450mm

ok heres another couple of pics using the system

Theres are Ice in their third week of flower.

I had to train these things to stay short as last time they ended up 6 feet tall and yeilded shit all due to not enough light.

Anyways There is 2 ice and one Australia blue or Wally Duck X Blue Haze on the far right.

Anyways I reakon they are looking pertty good for 3 weeks flowering. :scratchin

hey f420,

"ice" is a nice smoke - had the one from Nivarnia before - it frosted up nicley but did not pack on huge amouns of weight - nice perso smoke though.

Very easy setup there f420 to show that anyone can grow very easily without any flash equipment.

Did you have some heat problems early on in the grow? As there is some drying of the lower leaves

Allthough nice looking top colas mate.
