tip 3..

i fully know a person should take clones sometime durring the middle of the lights on....taking clones when the lights are about to go off is fully the wrong time....i have done this by accidenta few times and they always die the clones.....i dotn knwo why...maybe somone here with more *book smarts* can explain why taking clones when lights are about to go out seems to kill the clones......i see the plants start to droop....i realize that it is a patern as in every freaking day...every freaking strain.....the plants seem to tell when the lights are about to go off and will droop for as much as an hour before the lights go off...but they always do this under healthy conditions.....i am kinda curious myself why durring this stage clonning will go from 90% to like 10% .....now i take clones this way not cause somone told me to...but just from trial and error....i dont knwo why its better to take clones form larger plants or why its better when they have no nutrients in there system....i just knwo what works:/

;) Well I put the seeds in to germ. today, If I use 10" pots can they stay in these till the pre-flowers show, or will they get root bound by then, I'm trying to fix it so I don't have to put any stress on them till they pre-flower. The reason behind this I read that if you have conditions right on up till after 5-weeks you will have more female to male ratio. Or is this just some garbage too, I can give you the info on where its at if you would like to read it. :scratchin

hello UBENHADD

If I use 10" pots can they stay in these till the pre-flowers show, or will they get root bound by then, I'm trying to fix it so I don't have to put any stress on them till they pre-flower. The reason behind this I read that if you have conditions right on up till after 5-weeks you will have more female to male ratio.

I may have got this up a bit late for you but my advice is NOT to plant seedlings into a 10" pots straight away as this will probably induce the same if not more stress than re-potting from smaller pots to larger ones.I know this as when i first started i followed exactly the same logic as you have just described and found out i was wrong :;):

The reason for re-potting the plants from smaller pots is to train the root ball.If you start in something like (for examole) 8cmx8cmx9cm pots to put the seedlings or maybe even 9cmx9cmx10/11cm pots when the roots show at the bottom of these then it is time to repot into something like 16cmx16cmx20cm now these pots should just last you about the time it takes the plants to show its pre-flowers(sex)and only if you are growing a highly indica dom plant once you see the males and females you then pot into the final pots which could be say 25cmx25cmx26cm pots (11 litre) pots

with sat dom plants it will take longer to show their pre-flowers so you may have to repot them again before pre-flower depending on your method and style of growing.

this also depends on how big you want your finishing plants to how many times you re-pot but a good rule of thumb is to re-pot soon after the roots have shown at the bottom of the pots unless you are in you finishing pots.

The point of not going into the large pots straight away is that when you water the large pots with smaller seedlings you are washing away all the nutrients held in the soil that the seeds roots cannot reach and it will tend to compact the soil over time not encourageing good root production and washing everything the plant needs from it away this is why its best to build the root ball up useing the smaller pots first and then when re-potting the plant will recover quicker to the shock and then boost on as it uses all the soil which the roots can move into as the ball is bigg enough .

remember the bigger, better, and healtheir your roots the better the tops.

here is a pic of my 7ft sensi Northern Lights from seed and in their finishing pots they started showing se at about week 5-6.

peace and i hope this helps you P_L

if they are already in the big pots you still have time to re-pot into something smaller just be gentle :thumbsup they are a seriously strong plants to remember they can take it ;) :yingyang ;)
