Time to sex

I have 6 medical MJ seeds I want to start before I do my good seeds, This way I will learn more before I get to the expensive seeds.

I will be using 8" pots with soil to do this, under a 75w hps, and 75w mh. and 2 shop lites 2 bulbs each. room stays at 72-78, RH 50-55. If you need more info let me know.

 

I want to sex them as soon as posible, then transplant the females and go from there. Thanks anyone. :whistling

As soon as it gets to the point where you want to tip them, Do so and keep the tip for a clone. then wait for the clone to get roots and then turn the clones to 12/12.

the clone will show sex and you can then kill and remove any males.

In the mean time the main plants have kept growing and you havent stressed them by sexing them.

hey bro,

 

if u want to save some time put fresh cut clones straight under 12/12 hours, they will still show sex within 14 days.

 

Save 10-14 days waiting for clones to root.

tip..

 

flush your plants with water for two days before taking cuts - you will find the plants will root much faster with less nitrogen in them.

ERM i just thought i would add some advice to the thread that may help

ok the way i see it and know it from my experiences is that if your plants are indica dominant the if you are growing from seed through veg till sexing then you only have to wait for approx 6-7 weeks before sexing will start if they are sat dom-sat the its going to be roughly 8+ weeks till the originall seeds show their sex naturaly through their pre-flowers.as far as i know it should be ok to tip a plant at about 4 weeks, if you do and you are growing a pure indica this method wouldnt be much use as the main plants will show sex before you can root and sex the clones. for example tip at 4 weeks 2weeks to root properly and then 2 weeks in12/12 to show pre-flowers , in total that is 8 weeks to see what sex the clones are but the main plant will show you in 6-7 weeks , does that make any sense ????? sorry i am little :whistling

 

If your talking sat s or sat doms and height and time come into play,then cloning for sex, as stated above, and final clones to finish is the only way to go as the original seed mums and dads will get HUGE

 

This is just from what i know at the moment, it may all be total crap to so please check with others first

tip 2...

 

you will nearly allways find that the male plants are slightly more thicker and robust, then the ladies. They usually are slightly taller and the leaves are more rigid with slighly thicker veins in them.

 

I can 95% pick the males before sexing them, but the odd one still slips through.
