Cloning

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I thought I would start cloning myself, only i have no idea on how to go about it. From making a box to rockwool. I got no idea. I want to clone my White Rhinos which are 1 week into the veg stage.

What do i need to get to start out and when do i start cloning and how long does it take?

I'm going to keep reading other posts on this subject to fill me in more about it, but though i would ask straight out as maybe my white rhinos are hard to clone or something.

Thanks,

Kel.

wellfirst to prepair the rock wool follow the tutorial bellow

Grow Wool Preperation Tutorial

as for how to acrually clone well it is quite easy , get yourself some preferably clean scisors and slice yourself off a cutting with one or or more growth nodes on it , I then find it is best to cover over the cuttigns with a humidity dome of some sort, other than that all you really need to do is give them some low level lighting ( Compact fluros's work well ) and keep the grow wool moist usign a spray bottle

if you don't have a humidity dome a cut 2 Litre coke bottle works great

many people dip their cuttings in a rootign hormone before stickign it into the grow cube to asist in cloneing but it is not needed to be succsessfull

ok preparing the rockwool/growool is understood quite easily. Just stuck on the rest, :P.

Compact fluros's ?? what size, etc.. and how do i setup a clone box or one with a coke bottle, i am also pon a budget, so cheap and easy is my motto for this adventure.

does anyone have any diagrams or pictures.

thanks pure for you help so far, i'll catch you on MSN for some help.

I find tube style fluoro's the best for cloning and seed raising but CF's will do the job too, the light is gentler and it's easier to get more clones or seedlings directly under the light, look for "cool white" fluoro's.

and how do i setup a clone box
An old cupboard or wardrobe, an old fridge, a wooden box, one of those cheap 45 or 50 litre plastic storage tubs, etc., with a fluoro light.

does anyone have any diagrams or pictures.
I once built one in an old fridge (see link in my signature).

Thanks Tom.

I found some old wood panels and going to make a cupboard tomorrow. rough size would be 1.7m high by 80cm length and same 80cm width. Is it too big?

Do i need exhaust fan and all that, same to the actual grow or is cloning a little different, i gather it is as your not growing a crop inside a clone box.

I will make this a clone box for now and when they are ready i will put them into my bigger grow cupboard.

Is it possible to go into more detail Tom or Pure. I mean i get the whole rockwool preparation, then what after that, put them into the clone box? in what?

very new to cloning, but growing i'm getting good as to what to do, so most of this i will understand.

Also i have seen those lights at safeway/woolworths, the ones in your link Tom.

Could someone explain to me where to cut from the plant, which part, any pics?

Thanks,

Kel.
