I’ll keep this short.

My my names Sean.

I’m an ex Veteran, I have pretty chronic PTSD

I have been through the ringer to say the least and marijuana has been a massive help.

Trying to get it legally but the wait time is ridiculous.

I have tried CBD with no effect.

Growing my own is no option, tried and failed.

My health has declined from smoking it.

Any help from anybody would be great thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

I previously went through Cannvalate ages ago and was prescribed CBD oil, however this had no effect on me. From looking at those websites I think it’s the same, still needing a psychiatric report for anything THC based.

From my experience they started me off on an oil but then changed the prescription to a dried flower when it was explained there was very little benefit.

yeah mate I have told them. yeah read your stuff just as well.

I have been to countless GPS psychiatrists etc I have found 1 that actually listened and didn’t put his 2 cents bullshit spin on things.

Honestly if that’s how much it’s going to cost me than I’m screwed. 2 kids a wife plus a mortgage, trying to get by on my COMSuper of $1400 a fortnight

I've recently been down the CBD rabbit hole and have found there are a heap of organsiations providing this stuff illegally. I'm talking below 1% THc.

 

Some of them are also providing THC products as well once you start chatting to them. Personally I have pretty much given up the THC (never thought I'd say that). CBD works for what I need.  I am not an expert but I would think that for PTSD, you might need CBD with THC combined.

 

This stuff unfortunately costs heaps. However, I have heard that there are people out there providing this for free, or at a reduced rate to those that can't afford it. I don't really know how to find these folk but calling or emailing the Nimbin Hemp Embassy might be an option, or contacting some of the higher profile suppliers. I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction.

Have you looked into psychedelic therapy? MDMA and psilocybin therapies can have fucking remarkable results.

The legal avenue can be tedious and frustrating, mainly due to Australia's draconian and outdated laws regarding these substances but there are a few trials in the wings.

There are also a number of underground groups that operate with varying reviews and success.

 

What was the growing failure due to mate? Knowledge, space, set up?

 Personally I have pretty much given up the THC (never thought I'd say that). CBD works for what I need.  

 

That's excellent to hear Freddie. It really can be a case of trial and error to actually work out just what works best for you personally, a bit like any medication really.

I started off on a CBD oil as a trial with little benefit, then a THC oil which these was a benefit but it took time to 'kick in'. When I need it for pain, I need it NOW. and presently I'm getting a THC flower which is assisting nicely

But you are correct, it ain't cheap. It should be listed on PBS (Even as a restricted drug, if they must) but the cost of the pharma flower is just bullshit.

I had my insurances tied up with my super, is that where your $1400 is coming from, your super insurance?

If so, be aware, be very F$#@in aware, they can be real bastards. First they tried to underpay, I wasn't playing that game and appealed I it and won. My income protection component lasted 2 yrs, then I had to claim my TPD Total permanent disability component and the fun'n'games really started,

They had investigators outside my home, they had people following me, they were sending me to specialist after specialist, looking for anyway out of paying. The assessor was putting up obstacles everywhere possible and in the end I simply told her, "I'm getting the lawyers involved" "OHH OHH, don't do that" she says "TOO LATE, it's already happening".

I got myself a lawyer on a 'No win, No fee' basis and handed it all to them. This was the best thing I could have done, I only wish I'd done so earlier. They took care of it all, I had 2 medical appointments, one with a psychologist to show I was not just trying to play 'the crazy' and a specialist in the field, in my case neurosurgery. The insurer flew their neurosurgical professor in from interstate to do an assessment and I honestly thought he'd reject the claim, but it was approved in full.

BUT

Because my insurance was in my super, When I received the payout they took the balance of my super. So be aware of that if you ever need to make a claim, if you're insured for $100k and have $50k in super the insurer is only going to contribute $50k and you'll have no super at the end of it. My advice either have separate policies from your super or increase the insurance to cover it all.

I went the a similar process , but different in a few ways

 

My story is a little different

 

I went to the doctors for some pain killer's for my back so I could keep working

 

At the time I had a established electrical business with several contracts with big companies for maintenance of their plants

 

He looked at my hands and asked how I could work ,for the record both my hands are severely deformed due to a few different conditions,

 

Within days my workers compensation, public liability were cancelled meaning I could no longer conduct business

 

Long story short , 3 weeks later they placed me on the dsp

 

20 people out of work instantly

 

So i put in my claim for td through my super

 

I filled in the forms, got the 2 doctors reports and sent it off

 

Sure I knew they were watching me , but I had nothing to hide ,

 

18 months in they sent me to 1 of their doctors

 

No results

 

2 months later the money was in my account , no lawyers fees no tax

 

My super was untouched

Thanks all, at the moment I’m just trying to stay afloat.

 

In regards to the comm super, yeah that’s what I’m understanding.

Basically they said it’s their super contribution coming back to you when I got Med discharged.

 

I have a doctors appointment Tuesday for a referral to a company In Queensland. Hopefully I will have an interview with them and make some progress.

 

In regards to therapy I have tried EDMR, CBT, group therapy ( I cannot fucking stand group therapy) medications as far as the eye can see. Lost my job because I was almost catatonic from lithium poisoning. One night lost the function of my legs because of a drug interaction.

Been to 4 different wards.

And now have had to leave my wife and kids because I’m just that cooked.

 

Pots the only thing that helps.

 

Fingers crossed this next lot of shit pans out.
