Pain specialists ban medicinal cannabis

Question

This article  https://www.smh.com.au/national/medicinal-cannabis-blacklisted-by-australian-pain-specialists-20210322-p57cyw.html

looked a little concerning.

Reading through the report though I found this gem that the SMH article neglected to mention.

“While IASP cannot endorse the general use of cannabinoids for treatment of pain at this time, we do not wish to dismiss the lived experiences of people with pain who have found benefit from their use,” said Andrew Rice, Professor of Pain Research, Department of Surgery and Cancer, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London and chair of the IASP’s Presidential Task Force on Cannabis and Cannabinoid Analgesia.

“This is not a door closing on the topic,” he added, “but rather a call for more rigorous and robust research to better understand any potential benefits and harms related to the possible use of medical cannabis, cannabis-based medicines and synthetic cannabinoids for pain relief, and to ensure the safety of patients and the public through regulatory standards and safeguards.”

Any thoughts ?

Mick

Hey Dingo,

I'm down to 25mg once a day with the Lyrica. Still slowly weaning off it.

Currently getting over an episode of brachial neuropathy (I had a complete shoulder reconstruction 20 years ago and all I need to do is sleep with my neck in a weird position to irritate the nerves that run through my right shoulder/arm/hand). Add to that, I have an abscessed tooth and a chest infection. Can't see a dentist until my covid test comes back negative (fuck knows how long that will take with the high testing rates atm), but the antibiotics do seem to be settling down the fire in my face.

Yeah, so average winter bullshit. I can deal with the fucked nerves and infections. So long as the lung cancer doesn't play up, I'm ok and happy enough.

Hope things are going ok for you.  :friends:

Fuck mate! That's a rather harsh combination.

Scotch help at all?

I think people should be wary of Kratom it contains an opiod substance that interacts with other medications and is associated with liver injury.

Be careful

Mick

There is lots of rubbish on the internet about the K Leaf. Its because it is a huge threat to the pharmaceutical industry.

The stuff is 100 times better than opiates imo.

Very little negative side effects if used in moderation.

The USA consume 90% of the k from the source in kalimantan.

Average 400 tonnes a month.

Just read what people say about it and you may notice thousands of positive comments. Often found on youtube comments or other websites. Many people claim that it saved their lives and i found it to be the best thing for my mental health. Used it for 3 years and my lifestyle has improved thanks to this stuff. Its changed my life for the better. It is banned unfortunately in oz but its still available.
