just harvested and dried can i make extracts without curing

so yeah as the title says ,ive just dried a few ounces that I harvested  and was wondering if i have to cure it if all im doing is making canna butter ,cheers

Nah mate your good to go, curing I think only helps the taste for smoking makes it smoother and sometimes stronger as THC breaks down and converts to other cannabinoids, but it's not necessary for cooking, just make sure to decarb the weed in the oven to "activate" it about 100c for 30 mins or so.

eheat the oven to 250℉. The light should turn off once the oven has reached the temperature.

 

Break up your cannabis into small chunks. Don’t grind it, just break it into smaller bits and don’t leave any nugs out.

 

Spread the cannabis on a piece of baking paper. Make sure there are no overlapping pieces of cannabis.

 

Bake the cannabis at 250℉ for 25-30 minutes. Make sure not to open the oven too often. Decarbed cannabis should change its color from green to light brown.

 

After 25-30 minutes, check your cannabis. It should be light to medium brown and should be very dry. If it’s not, put it back in the oven for an extra 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.

 

Remove cannabis from the baking sheet and let it cool off for a while. Careful, it’s going to get very crumbly at this point.

Although I don't talk about making edibles or oil very often I still make them

I've had the machine butter machine for a couple of yrs now and have made everything from green dragon to butter and a lot in between

Great investment if you like to use all of your harvest

When you say all your harvest, what do you put in it besides buds? Do leaves and stems get thrown in?

Go for it.. Decarb it like others have said , I usually do mine on 150 degrees for about 15mins. Best of luck mate. Let us know how it goes. [emoji106]

thanks for the replies guys ,my magical butter machine is on its way ,i cant wait to get it , and midlife Gardner definitely  no stems ,just buds and trim
