Heating

Recommended Posts

G’day guys

It got down to 1.6 degrees last night and my tent (90x90x180) is in a garden shed with LED and my seedlings are fucking freezing!

How can I heat my tent without burning my shed down?

My plan was to just go to the hydro shop and ask them but I’m an obvious noob and don’t wanna get stitched up.

Cheers!

i would insulate your shed 1st, would make a far amount of difference, then add a small oil fin heater linked to a inkbird or the like.
if you dont have enough space could go with reptile/pet heating mats off ebay, to put around the walls in the tent, figure will need to space it off the walls pending heat.

i wouldn't buy from china due to corona, here is a wa store https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/INFRARED-REPTILE-HEAT-MAT-5W-7W-14W-28W-35W-45W-AUS-Plug-Brooder-Incubator-Pet/142478425479?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item212c603d87:m:mH257r1ciEC9slHYK6FfOGg&enc=AQAEAAACcIQvEcHUrT7nmUC3yY5qbPyaBN1nJEDYW8MyypsJPgXKRMnMe4hpRS1YrOJd%2BCnTxWvkaiXkxAFwhVhWYYpk7LnCpo4w64grezG4PrRnkJeA1%2Bzb2L5OcwHFZCQy9HZwNfY5p5I9nByvyxWhjs84iaUdL5nVHGRLq6ndSFuMMOPsaVakJsamJQ%2FxjKgGfnaHNZeA7R96jXaH0rnST2pucCTxqoAoK07UeRYkp8F4dI%2Fgp%2BO7blTkmiEOGCEm9kSKeQPfwwIfOWvvFCV3OppD3X%2BUjFsY0eKPfLHWx%2FMoHb6ZMj4uHkGWxpfy2%2BELEBBI4nqSj0TiQRuJOzzwF82KZUOfA7DK5jO4dMO1d7FI4rYeqZ0l50z9GMSVAreFNyBIo2f1IIKcUr0g0FUnQ2chiy2%2FZ5BcDS230KOXLJF%2BeBJ3DvH3m%2BZ08aE586jO4IcTOuDvL4lAsoWJgz0Y2KhjYa%2FqAn3OL%2BGrHYtCnPXtGS39qPNGuDfAEHFygbAr1XebJa3RJD9Ydz%2FCkxRmAAX%2FTivQFlQIDFv451LqxDBFZfHGFFQufygkA%2B9skKaU3qnSVa8bpf28YJwk6C4sGuagRj%2BxJZtTq3%2B8EFi863q%2BHj%2BwuwS48gOmRJtWtYQ78YdOrKQW10NaI0%2Fg9msXNa2%2FBjZinXOva2QLr4fYrEb0MnYyGaEQc%2Fc%2BeXJlmHOVCHZ93QDNg8o2r1VdKL8q1Z%2FPYnaywkStN5M6HJlXhiP8KuqLdG5bEXyU10YyUjWHHZreJxRGYcBNGkB1lWfdnJy8qpk68%2BlirwDStaNNzDZGs%2B2WnQ93GpFFEgEAtcT8fmR4sw%3D%3D&checksum=1424784254797cb6ada642f44f3ba6a8a6950fba5a4b

Would a oil fin heater work well on a thermostat? thought they are efficient wwhen they are running for a long time not switched on and off? Haven't used any in my grow room personally. Insulation is a good idea if possible.

haven't used one in a grow my self, have one in the house that does a good job for a bedroom.

inbuilt thermostat not too sure on as figure might not be too precise, it should still work fine on a thermostat if we talking inkbird controller etc just means you dont have to turn it off when you go to work and its 20-25 deg out etc in the day

Using 1 atm have it sitting outside the tent and I'm also in a shed, fiddled around with thermostat so it goes on around 18 degrees (22 in tent) only use 3 of the fins on lowest setting I'm in flower so 18 is good temp as it clicks off at around 26 degrees inside the tent. I'll just keep adjusting it as temps drop or put it inside the tent.
