A question for Tassie legal medical users

Veritas629

Question

I'm a medical user leaving in southern TAS.  I have a condition that should qualify me to get a cannabis prescription according to all the available information.  I was give a referral to a pain management specialist via the specialist who treats my condition. The plan being the PMS would be able to provide a cannabis script.

FAIL.  He told me flat out, he wouldn't give a cannabis related script to any adult who wasn't in palliative care.  He acknowledged that he could, but simply won't.  Then he sent me away with a script for a pharmaceutical. A pharmaceutical that I clearly explained to him I refuse to take.  Something that I had strong side effects to and won't touch ever again.  But in his mind turning me into a obese zombie that sleeps 12hrs a day was preferable to the horrors of the devil's lettuce.  His anti-cannabis bias was confirmed by another professional in the same clinic.  But that person is not in a position to help here.  A waste of time & money, frustrating, and .... what a worthless asshole.

I'm not willing to give up on what I know is the right medicine, just because one deadbeat doctor is 20yrs behind in his studies.  Apparently, there are four PMS in the southern region.  Does anyone here have experience with a PMS or other specialist that is open to cannabis?

Note: I'm aware that the products offered via legal means are expensive and far from perfect products.  But I'd to get on the legal side of the fence, despite having an illicit garden.  May save my ass, if I ever end up in court for gardening!

Your doctor is what’s wrong with the health system.

Arrogant close minded fuckwit doctors being paid of by pharma companies to keep feeding you their shit.

I completely agree.  I've done my best to avoid doctors for many years for exactly this reason.  He wasn't interested in even entertaining the idea of cannabis.  I was open with the fact that I've "extensively tested" it's efficacy on my very own body and symptoms with good success.  He agreed it "might" work, but didn't care about my personal experience.  I can understand him not transferring my experience to other patients, but it is very relevant to my body and that's what's important in this case.  He then offered a nerve pain pill that I clearly explained to him made me unlivable sleepy, stack unhealthy weight, and made the lil' soldier lie down on the job.  Again, my personal experience with the drug had no bearing on his recommendation.  Then he charged me a significant fee for the insulting experience.  Is it any wonder that so many people self-diagnosis using Google to avoid visiting doctors....

Most doctors get trial pacjets of drugs maybe 6 tableys from companies to give to their patients

Most doctors around here aren't actually owned by doctors

I don't know how it works but he then employs doctors to run the surgery

So at the end of the day our health system, which is supposed to benefit all, 8s controlled by the dollar

When I had a air con company if you sold so many of a particular brand you got a free trip , Dubai was 1

Didn't go on that one for obvious reasons

But I assume the prescription of certain company's line of treatments can reap them some rewards

The same as he chemists, they all push their own brand ahead of the prescribed drugs

Even if you get approved the price is hefty

What chance has the average Joe got

Zero to none
