The quantum board turns off, when I turn up the power. Is that normal?

sounds like a good way to kill ya light or ya driver or both and maybe an electrical fire to boot.

How hot do the drivers get?

about 3-5c over amb temp, not hot, the heat sink gets hotter, about 10-15c over amb

It gets hot as balls here so I added some 120mm PC fans to my 240w and put some 80mm fans on the driver, they both stay super cool

Amb - 33c

Driver - 36c

Board Face - 42c

Top of heatsink - 34c

What’s the difference between porkstars led and the others?

Leds ain’t leds, does this come back to the you get what you pay for mantra?

About $400........lol. might be some minor difference in diodes, and/or heatsink, but the actual driver is where the major difference will be. Drunk has commented on the difference between drivers.

The XLG series are good drivers, just cheaper and not as efficient (by a few percent) as the HLG series, both meanwell so good quality

A, B and AB determines how to adjust the driver

A = Voltage and Current adjust pots built into driver

B = External dimming pot - voltage scales with the current output

AB = Voltage adjust built into driver, external dimming pot

You can do a serial number search of the driver to see if its legit or fake

yeah, got a chinese QB120 for my mum room, drives fine using an XLG-150-AB, the smaller version of his driver - runs at 20W normally haha - https://r2thk.en.alibaba.com/product/60774189817-806484395/2018_Newest_Samsung_LM301B_SK_SL_bin_full_spectrum_led_grow_light_quantum_board_for_indoor_growing_lighting.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.41413.30.19c63c08ANvLmC

Its not super hard, just connecting wires really

Some good designs here - https://ledgardener.com/diy-led-strip-build-designs-samsung-bridgelux/

Bittor420, He's got a good guide showing how to check your voltage and current - https://ledgardener.com/use-multimeter-check-led-circuit/

@ the drunk,

I know blokes that can’t change a flat tyre, fuckin embarrassing, you just need to post some grow pics to back yourself in. With your knowledge you should be smashing it.

Connect a few wires you say, most people I know can’t read a multimeter. Not that there is anything wrong with that in my experience everybody is an expert in something.
