The quantum board turns off, when I turn up the power. Is that normal?

Recommended Posts

Doesn't sound right to me. Driver should be rated to run the lights at full power. Maybe the driver isn't properly matched to diode output capabilities. I run a HLG 135 ( got a autumn/winter crop going) and run mine at full power. It's never turned itself off. It may have a heat safety cut out switch, but it's not summer anymore, and shouldn't be turning off at current temps.

You have an A type driver, on the back there are 2 holes, one is for voltage and the other for current.

Put your multimeter on it and check the output voltage and current. You want it within range of your board, normally QBs are 54v @ 2.2A, but make sure you check what your board is designed for.

Make things easier on yourself and get one of these, put it between the driver and the board

You want the 0-20A DC version (NOT AC)

What’s the difference between porkstars led and the others?

Leds ain’t leds, does this come back to the you get what you pay for mantra?

Nah he just needs to tweak his driver voltage output, it's under/over driving the LEDs

Next time get a B driver that is matched to your boards

You are gunna find it really annoying using that built in pot to dimm

People have even damaged it and had to fix/replace the driver

yeah, got a chinese QB120 for my mum room, drives fine using an XLG-150-AB, the smaller version of his driver - runs at 20W normally haha - https://r2thk.en.alibaba.com/product/60774189817-806484395/2018_Newest_Samsung_LM301B_SK_SL_bin_full_spectrum_led_grow_light_quantum_board_for_indoor_growing_lighting.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.41413.30.19c63c08ANvLmC

and a chinese QB240 for flower using a HLG-240H-B - runs fine 13W to 240W - https://r2thk.en.alibaba.com/product/60768797572-806484395/240W_2in1_288_8LEDs_288_Samsung_LM301B_8_XPE_660nm_DIY_LED_Grow_Light_for_Indoor_Garden.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.41413.16.56901dd3OOFEgW]QB288+8

clone room uses a legit samsung board on an ELG-75-A that i scratch built for cheap - runs at 5W for clones lol - https://www.arrow.com/en/products/sl-b8t4n90laww/samsung-electronics

sounds like a good way to kill ya light or ya driver or both and maybe an electrical fire to boot.

How hot do the drivers get?
