Aged care centers should have been the first places locked down since the elderly are the most affected this time. While at one today, asking my 86yrs old dad what he thought of it all and what, if anything, the residents were told by management his immediate response was one of total surprise and bewilderment. It was then I saw for the first time how beneficial living in a dimentia bubble could be when you are totally oblivious to the mass hysteria and panic prevalent in the supposedly sane real world outside. Five minutes after he is told something he has forgotten it. Meanwhile his tv was on like it is always on regurgitating old news to maintain the viewer's interest and keep them locked in to the scourge of commercial television and the all important advertising dollar they feast on like the rancid rodents they are, there was a mention of imminent aged care centers lock down so if you have loved ones living in these places, maybe just consider a visit while you can still get in.

That's contradictory ,,you say they should've been locked down first and I agree ,,but then to say go and visit ?
Unless your 100% sure you havnt got it ,,,and I doubt there are many that really know ,,,
To visit could mean passing it on to them an the others with them.
Although its hard on family members it's really not the best thing to do right now

ahh I can see why that would have caused confusion, I'll try to clarify what I meant. When lock downs were first considered, the most vulnerable places such as aged care centers and nursing homes, where the most susceptible to a respiratory illness reside, should have been the first considered. The fact they are not and are still open to visitation is a window of opportunity to go while you still can unless of course you think you are infected and show the symptoms of infection.Of course anyone could be a carrier and not show any signs but that's an anomaly. The same could apply to other visitors and any staff member. The risk factor is something like 1.2% and was the risk I was prepared to take being a reasonably level headed person not caught up in hysteria and paranoia. I don't smoke which I think is a plus right about now.
