SEEDLING AND HYDROPONICS

Recommended Posts

HYDRO SYSTEM SET-UP:

EBB AND FLOW

4 - 2 GALLON PLASTIC BUCKETS 1 PLANT IN EACH BUCKET

SEVEN GALLONS CIRCULATING

WATERS EVERY FOUR HOURS

FLOOD TIME 15 MINUTES

LIGHTS 24/7

PUMP TO PUMP WATER FROM RESERVOIR TO BUCKETS, TWO MORE PUMPS IN RESERVOIR TO CIRCULATE NUTRIENTS, ON PUMP IN CONTROL BUCKET TO DRAIN WATER FROM BUCKETS BACK INTO RESERVOIR

OVERFLOR SEVEN INCHES

WATER AND NUTRIENT CHANGE EVERY TEN DAYS

PH CHECK EVERY THREE DAYS

METAL HALIDE LIGHTS FOR SEEDLING, VEG. STAGES. 400 WATTS

HIGH POWERED SODIUM FOR PRE FOWER AND FLOWERING STAGES. 400 WATTS

50/50 PERLITE/VERMICULITE MEDIUM DRAINS WELL

GOOD VENTILATION

1 FT X 2 /12 M GROW AREA

I WENT AND BOUGHT A TWO PART SOLUTION AT THE LOCAL HYDRO STORE. TWO TWO PARTS HAD ALL OF THE 14 ELEMENTS NEEDED BY THE MJ ROOT SYSTEM TO DEVELOP. IT SAYS TO DILUTE 1/2 TSP. FOR EVERY GALLON FROM EACH PART. THERE ARE TWO PARTS.

1/2 TSP. X 7 GAL = 3 1/2 TSP. X 2 PARTS = 7 TSP.

SHOULD I GIVE IT NOT NUTES FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS AND THEN GIVE IT THE RECOMMENDED AMOUNT AND THEN BUILD UP HIGHER DOSAGES

AND AM I WATERING TOO LESS OR TOO MUCH FOR THE SEEDLING STAGE

MY SEEDLINGS SEEM KINDA STAGGERED IN THEIR GROWING, BUT STILL APPEAR STRONG AND HEALTHY AND ARE ALL STANDING UP STRAIGHT.

ROOT ROT NOT A PROBLEM I CHECKED NO SIGN OF ALGAE BUILDUP I HAVE REFLECTIVE FOIL ON TOP OF THE BUCKETS SO THE ALGAE CANT GROW REGARDLESS

THIS KINDA SOUNDS LIKE A WATERING/NUTRIENT PROBLEM TO ME

AM I FLOODING TOO LONG? THE NUTRIENT UPTAKE HAS TO BE FINE BECAUSE I CHECK THE PH REGULARLY.

I WOULD APPRECIATE FEEBACK AND OPINIONS ON MY SETUP, IT ITS GOOD, IF IT SUCKS, AND WHAT I COULD DO TO MAKE IT BETTER. I HAVE ALREADY MADE A COUPLE OF SMALL CHANGES. I REALLY NEED ANSWERS TO MY SMALL DILEMMAS. IM SURE LUKE CAN HELP........PEACE AE-BODY

PS FIRST TIME HYDRO, EXPERIENCED ONLY WITH AEROPONICS TRYING BOTH SIDES OF GROWING

Hiya, i have not used your hydro set up but i too am on my first time. I started my seedlings off in a dome useing seedling and clone solution mixed with water, When i transfered to my hydro setup i did not have a ppm meter only a ph tester i used recomeded amount of nutes but got nute burn leaf curling slight wilt and drying of tips and some yellow spots.I got a ppm meter the next day and found ppm to be 700 way too hight for seedlings so i flushed remixed tank (PH 6.6 ppm300 trucheon). So my advice would be test strengh of nutes 1st do not go off recomended lvls this is the chart i go off:

seedlings: 50-150ppm

unrooted clones: 100-350ppm

small plants: 400-800ppm

large plants: 900-1800ppm

So experiment and see what works for you :thumbsup

first thing mate root rot appears with out algae.secondly basically without a nute meter use for the first to weeks 1/4 of the recommended strength then bring it up.last thing from seed they hit a slow period usually around second week then thats it they take off.usually you can tell when the growth starts by looking at the stem.it starts to look hardened then this outer skin starts to split and the water leaves start to die and its on from here.

to all new hydro growers oxyplus is a must in systems.h202 adds extra oxygen prevents root rot and destroys some bacterias.
