Mother plant Questions , cfl or hPs ?

Hi crew

Looking at getting a small 80cmx80cm x1.2m tent to grow a mother in. Couple of questions I have -

1. I planned on having her in coco , what size pot is recommended ?

2. if she gets root bound do you just replace the mother with a clone (I’d think so but I heard people keeping mothers for a long time) ?

3. Cfl or hPs and what wattage ? With a cfl I figure you wouldn’t need to worry about heat etc but would still need air for circulation ..

Ya trim the roots and keep them in small pots, wouldn't go bigger than a 4l pot 

 

or  keep replacing it with another clone every so often 

 

 

Better of with square pots, take a inch of each side and the bottom when ya trim them, repack with ya medium

Repack medium top only?

or bottom of the square pot also?

Thanks Pedro - I’m really knew to this so would u explain a little further .... do u shake the soil off and trim or just cut through the soil and roots then repot ?

Just cut thru it all, wait till it needs it tho, no point unless its full of roots

Cool mate , do you use anything for stress once that’s done or just nutes as normal - I usually throw a little rhizotonic in anyway

Only ever run mothers in dirt, was a long time ago, when I could grow in it

 

You don't really want rapid root growth, but a bit or Rizo first up will be good, just use liquid Kelp meself 

 

they are tough plants if there healthy

The idea is to keep them slowly ticking over, not growing rapidly,
