One thing after another

I haven't read many of the answers in this thread. Did you check the PH of your tank water? I have found galvanized iron tanks have a pretty good PH reading straight out of the tap, whilst plastic tanks (from what I have learned using water from a plastic tank) always have a high PH around 8 and I have tested water from three different plastic tanks all gave the same high PH reading. So if you haven't taken a PH test of the water it might be worth looking at that as well.

I’ve a 22000k plastic tank it’s ph currently around 5.8 which is bloody strange, I thought being that it ran dry last year and had gutters/tank cleaned it would have been a higher reading, must have had some acidic rain when it filled? My mates tank 2 blocks away is 7.2

Yeah bloody strange alright. Three plastic tanks from different properties had the PH up @ 8 maybe the gutter clean has done it for you. I have also tested water in a plastic watering can after it had been there for a couple of days. I had used PH down to bring it back to around 5.8 but after a couple of days it was back at 8. Gotta be something in the plastic that may leach out. IMO
