A couple of months ago I asked my GP about obtaining cannabis to treat my ongoing symptoms.

"Ohh ahhh, I don't know anything about the processes, I wouldn't know where to start..."

Being that I'm in SA and there being no clinic's here (our state Gov't (Liberal) still have their heads buried firmly up their own arses)  I thought the whole process would be a waste of time

I went investigating and found a clinic in NSW, who would go through the whole process online.

 

So after a couple of weeks of paperwork both from myself and my GP, today I got the call from the clinic and have had the initial approval.

I now have to obtain the approval from the TGA but from what I've been told this should not be a problem and should take less than a week.

The Dr I spoke to has told me that what he would be prescribing is a CBD and THC combination as my situation is pain related.

I asked the Dr about the cost of the medication itself as it is NOT on the PBS and I have to say it is NOT cheap.

The Dr himself would not actually tell me a defined cost but advised me to call the chemist in Victoria.

Upon doing so I was told $270/50ml + postage ($30), so $300 delivered. First thought "Fuck, it'd be cheaper to go buy an ounce" but have decided to follow through with the process.

 

At this point I have not been told of the recommended dosages, so how long that 50ml is going to last I am unsure.

I am also unsure if I may be able to get my local chemist to get it in for me or whether it needs to come from an approved compounding chemist, solely in Victoria.

 

So the processes have been started. The dr and the prepaid TGA approvals have cost me $550 so far (that's without the script itself), so let's see how much more it's gonna cost

When I have any further info I will let you all know.

Ordered a refill script of Bedrocan Flos (flower), bit of a mix up with scripts. Chemist blames dr, dr blames chemist. I got them to talk to each other, then call me back. Awaiting a call.

So it's not just Auspost you've gotta keep an eye on, but the chemist too.

The price has increased again from $129 to $157, when asked why they stated that's the chemists/suppliers costs.

The Oz $ vs US$ has increased in which case I would have expected a decrease in costs, but seemingly not.

Was hoping to see something sensible happen here in my lifetime ,but I won't hold my breath.Unfortunately most just can't afford medical cannabis. So we must live as criminals. Not to mention our criminal illegal government is working on fucking up our postal system at the moment too! It's a wonder they haven't sold Australia post to the Chinese along with everything else!

No need to be apologising oldfark, you are correct.

The govt want to take the criminal element out of it, but the costs involved for legal access are even more criminal, profiteering at it's worst.

It works out at around $940/oz or around $15k/Lb retail, now wouldn't that be nice

             That sounds awful, I hope someone can refer you to a better deal somewhere. I hope a legal better deal becomes available soon.

 

This is tragic that people needing medication are priced out of that form of care intentionally.

Hi crew,

Ya sure gotta keep an eye on the hole set up Merl1n.

I to have had a Big F~!@#$%^&*K up with my supply.

I have not spoken with anyone about it yet due to me being so pissed off with the melt down.

Charged me for 2 bottles of  Tilray10% x 10% ,When they should have supplied 1 x 25ml bottle of  Tilray 10% X 10% Plus 1 bottle of Tilray40ml x 10% x 10%.

The people from the   Cincotta Pharmacy seem to be a we bit slack to me. Time for a big rocket up there asshole put them into orbit for awhile.

Hope you crew don't have any stuff ups like this one.

Well, PHEW, it ain't just me then Dingo and my gripe ain't with Cincotta, but another pharmacy.

I wouldn't say I was forceful just curt. I think they're lucky they have covid to blame and I think they got the msg - Me not pleased

Waiting, waiting... ...then today got the msg it's here @ P.O.

The restrictions on cannabis oil are ridiculous, pharmacies not being able to keep it in stock adds to delays in prescriptions arriving, some (cincotta) are worse than others but I like to think its early days and things are improving.

Its silly that I need to get TGA approval for cannabis oil but can be prescribed seriously dangerous amounts of opiods, I think it is the exact opposite of what needs to happen.
