First time newbie.

I was hoping if I went sterile dwc, I could maybe get away with less frequent res changes.

But the soil type medium sounds easier.

Where is a good local seller of nutes? As in Australia. That will post. No hydro shop in my town anymore. Would like to keep it basic as possible. Was thinking of just trying the Bunnings hydro range. Still have a couple of weeks until I have all the stuff gathered, so I can still change things up at the moment.

Does Bunnings have a hydro range? I knew they used to carry Yellow Bottle, but haven't seen that in a while.

You might be interested in no-till, but I'm not the one to help with that. I've just seen people with great results with it

Not sure soil is any easier than water culture. For simple think run to waste; perlite, clayballs, coir mixes, blumats, hempy buckets, etc.

Here's a couple of links to get you going on making your soil and hydro mixes, covers porosity, pH, nutrient exchange, etc. You can get everything you need at Bunnings and there's plenty of info on coir getting around.
