Wet patches on leaves

Recommended Posts

Well for the fear of being shot down in flames by Google warriors, sorry guys won't find this 1 on your charts?

It's condensation that has been caught between the leaves and has not evaporated

You'll find this when 2 leaves are touching allowing the water to remain there

It also means that this space may not be receiving adequate air flow

It's important not to have overlapping leaves, that can trap this water,it can and will lead to problems

No shooting down from me.

I suck up all info I can get.

But what you say here is bang on, that's exactly where it's occurring.

I'll look into somehow stopping this, more air flow n bit trim.

Cheers MM

No, you shouldn't be concerned at all

There is a horticultural term known as transpoevaporation or evapotranspiration where fluid is evaporated from the plant as it photosynthesises. It is a natural plant process.

Many years ago it was popular for people to have glass terrariums like these:c43f1181aec3027e9b89e8b80be56d3f--wardia

Notice how when they are sealed the condensation builds up on the inside. That's showing the process of transpoevaporation in process. As others have said when it doesn't evaporate the condensation condenses on the surface of the leaves just like it does on the glass in this pic and its all a natural process. No need to be concerned.
