Light dude is excited!

Unfortunately after discussion with Alwen, it's just a Slate 2 heatsink but used on a new kit they sell them with

The 2 slate 2 are adjustable from end of rails and slide towards each other, running off 2 X HLG 240H-2100A drivers over 4 X QB288 V2 LM301B SK BIN boards....all this delivered to Australia from China for $595post-65362-156145134806_thumb.jpeg

Yeah, nah. I'd rather sink that money into a decent digi ballast and CMH/CHPS myself.

The tech in HID has evovled a lot.

That set up might shit all over my 5 year old cheap mag ballast and bulbs, but it will not compete with current tech HID.

No hate, just my two dollars and fifteeeeen cents. B)

I am curious about LED for clones, but I'll likely just stick with ye olde CFL. I have all the gear, just need the CFL to put in it. ^_^

LED is not for everyone, and from my impressions it is mostly due to how fast LED tech changes. It seems that a newer, betterer, brighter LED chip is coming out on a weekly basis. For me this rate of advancement doesn't bother me, what does get me is that the true LED haters that have never tried LED, or they tried it in the blurple era and got put off by diminished yields compared to HID lighting. I am not a HID hater, I think they both have their marks in the industry for indoor growing.

I think what sold me to LED the most is that I really enjoy the tinkering with the builds of the DIY kits. At the end of the day, current day light work both HID and LED and we just have to accept that some people enjoy running one way, when the haters want the LED people to run it their way
