Wonder-Gro

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was just looking for a little bit of help. I currently have 1 seeding outside, which is about 3-4 weeks old, and 2 seeds which are a week old, they both have their first set of leaves.

The oldest plant which is outside in the ground is not doing the greatest. (I think I may have put it out side too early)

And the 2 young girls (I hope) are in a pot each and I have got them under those energy saving bulbs, basically they are in pot that are 20cm round and they are 20cms deep. I have them out side during the day and when the sun starts to go down I bring them inside and put them under the lights, the lights are just bedside lamps that have the bendable neck and I have the bulbs about 5 cms away from the top of my babies.

I brought some Wonder-gro tonight it is a liquid food. Has anybody heard of this? I am from New Zealand and I think it could be New Zealand made. On the box it says N.P.K 18:8:15, Is this to high?

The directions say:

For general use: Use 2 teaspoons in 5 litres of water, and feed plants once a week.

Tomatoes, roses, and other heavily fruiting and flowering plants: Use 2 teaspoons in 5 litres of water and feed plants twice a week.

Seedlings, palms, African violets and other slow growing or sensitive plants: Use 1 teaspoon per 5 litres of water and feed plants once a week.

I supose I should use the Seedling directions or should I make it weaker and gradually increase it?

Do I soak the ones in the pots till water runs of the bottom of the pots? Or what should I do?

Any help would be appreciated as I really dont have any clues,

Oh yeah, also, alot of people talk about growing in pots, does anybody use those black growing bags? You know the bags that roses and stuff sometimes come in!!

Thanks for reading my post, I hope I get some feedback :thumbsup
