What size area is optimum for a 600hps ?

Recommended Posts

Rule of thumb is 1.2m2 for 600W. Not sure what you mean about depth. Height of the room? If so it's pretty short and hard to work with but not impossible.

Sorry cooper should have been a bit more specific !

I’ve got a cool room shed sectioned off one part with 3m high roof by 4m long and 2m wide

Then I have set up a scrog (I’ve attached a pic from a few weeks ago it’s filled up a bit better since then ) which is from one corner across 2.4m length and 1.5 width (depth) back to wall .

I have a 600hps with a big adjust a wing reflector (about 1.2mx 800mm) then a 315 cmh Evergrow (eBay model) and then another 600HpS in a slightly smaller adjust a wing - all coco/perlite , canna coco nutes - does having a larger reflector help or is it a placebo cause it’s the same lesser intensity ?

Got 2 rows of 4 and my first scrog I’ve tried- good ol Merlin has been giving me some top advice in regards to this .. thinking next time just having 2/3 down the middle spaced out and scrogged for a longer veg time to save on coco, nutes etc and probably get a better spread of light ! ?

Your light watts per area works out pretty sweet, maybe a bit shy of optimal. You can get a light meter for cheap, will tell you without doubt if there is enough light at the edge of your scrog.

Second the light meter suggestion. About a $50 off fleabay. Even for my small grow its been very useful.
