What are you growing? Show us your non-canna garden

Recommended Posts

Looks good tunks. Almost everything in my outdoor garden died over summer, all but the capsicum and aloe vera... just put in coriander chives and dill, gonna start back up again now it's finally cooling down. Have had 3 days in a row under 35 degrees for the first time since before xmas. This red dirt isn't the best shit to make soil out of either...

Thanks sticky. Not alot of my summer garden survived either. Only got few dozen cherry tomatoes, handful of lebs and zucchinis before they went arse up. Watermelon went nuts but fruit didn't develop enough. I cut it right back to see if I can manage at least one decent melon lol

Well this thread has inspired me... I just got back from our small excuse for a hardware store (they usually actually do alright for how isolated I am next to the arsehole of nowhere) with some soil and compost to try revive my little vege patch. Ive got seeds prepping for corn, watermelon, silverbeet, snow peas, cherry toms, cucumber, leek, carrot, spring onion.

EDIT: Just realised I didn't hit post on this hours ago...

Wheat Grass grow operation. lol

All materials sourced from bunnings, except the doors which are fabricated from aluminum scrap and lined with magnets and fastened with hinges to swing shut.

In the process of setting up a wheat grass grow system for little mumsy, who had cancer twice badly and beat it! But you know what they say about cancer, it can come back in a different part of the body............. badly. We can't have that, so i'm modifying her nutritional intake as she is already exercising and reducing her stress levels etc.

So we have an automated tap timer, a brick of coco coir, some bits and pieces for an automated misting system, some seed raising trays, a frame wrapped in rodent mesh to keep ... well rodents and possums out and lastly the watering hose used to deliver H20 to the wheat grass.

Some brahmi and a lemon balm plant. (Medicinal herbs).

I'll take photos for those interested once the project is complete. Will deliver wheat grass juice to little mumsy and myself to prevent any disease from coming back.

Enjoy!

lol
