Outdoor Flowering: Do plants get more thirsty?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Do outdoor plants get more thirsty during flowering? I upgraded from 30 to 50 litre pots prior to them turning and now that flowering is well under way, they seem to want a drink every 2 to 3 days now. The weather is only in the high 20s to low 30s.

I'm using about 25% perlite mixed with potting mix in said 50L pots. Feeding Rock brand Bloom, Fusion and Root Tonic. So far only one supplemental dose of Cal Mag.

Today is Monday. Last feed was Saturday afternoon.

As you can see, the tops are JUST starting to droop. By tomorrow, probably more so.

Thanks for your help everyone.

go by the weight of the pot, try tip it up.

If you are in regular potting mix and perlite, those plants will likely have exhausted all their available nutrients.

they will need a water and feed likely daily or every second day at a stretch.

water alone wont cut it..

Thanks mate. I always give nutes due to the soil I'm using. I'll take your advice and water every second day. If it seems too much I can easily back it off.
