Organic, pro-biotic and organic growing without bottled nutrients

Recommended Posts

And for those familiar with living soil grown cannabis, they will know that the finished product is amazing: terpene and cannaboid production really takes off when a plant is left in control of its own metabolic processes. Would be great to get some tests done of finished product and compare with synthetic grown for some real facts. Rather than advertise my soil though, I really was hoping to spark up a higher level convo about organic cultivation methods with living soil lol

i find a mix of both castings & compost a lill better than just castings

i like using castings as top dress

it has been mentioned by coot , which i agree with , the best castings are made with almost finished compost

For sure. I blend both castings and compost in my soil too. Coot seriosuly specialises in worm castings thats for sure.

Half a ute of gold mix and half a ute of premium garden mix from soil co just round the corner from me. 200 lt of pearlite 3 bags of shroom compost. I know there is shit loads of other good stuff i should put in there but like i said im lazy. Thats why if your soil is as good as you say ide just put 2 or 3 bags with that mix to bring up the good microbes a bit.

From what I can see, your mix will have excellent diversity of biology... You could add some kelp meal, neem meal and rockdust for longer lasting nutrition and growth promoting properties. Also if used in containers or beds, sphagnum peat moss will raise CEC and increase water holding capacity.

Well from my reading you would be looking for a more bacterial dominated soil rather than a fungi dominated one. Castings would inhibit more bacteria as they can break in and get it quicker than the fungus could. Which may be the reason for more Protozoa and nematodes??

Although you still want some fungi I would be more inclined to go bacteria dominated inputs

All about diversity, the more the better. You want alot of everything. In soil food web microscopy, thats what you look for to determine soil health.

And only small levels of anaerobes though I should say: cilliates etc

Use lime to neutralise acidity of SPM though however
