Any idea whats wrong with my plant?

Recommended Posts

Ignore the Old Goat.. lol

Ok like Zen says +1

The light is not issue..poor light like CFL's won't produce crappy plants just stretched slow plants..You have a deficiency

Everything you are doing looks on track ..Just the bottled water and E.C. is in question & possibly the nute's.....You need to get an E.C. pen when using DWC.

Like Zen says you need DWC nutes.

If your tap water is around 0.2 E.C. I would use that.

Just buy a cheap one, they don't drift in calibration like PH Meters...I have a 15 dollar one that's 4 years old and I check it's calibration but have never had to adjust it.

So your PH meter was out by 0.4?...at the start you said you were at 5.8 but now 6.2...Is that because of the Meter or you have adjusted the nutrient now?

Did you check the calibration of your P.H Meter?

DWC is a pain in the Arse until you get some good experience with it...Needs constant PH and EC adjustment and Nute changes. It's very unforgiving.

If your PH is accurate and around 6.0 and your E.C. is between 0.8 to 1.5 then it can only be an issue with the Nutes you are using or possibly the bottled water but that's very unlikely.

That brown patch of roots you have tells me you have onset of root disease already.

and yes the lighting you have needs work.

We all had to start somewhere

And yeah that clear transparent lid need changing...the light is possibly why the roots are not looking so flash...Dark Dark Dark for everything except the plant itself

I failed to notice the lid on your container, DUH, good point Buzzo.

Get some alli foil and cover it for now. If light is getting into your solution with high nutes and your temps are TOO high(get a temp gauge). You are creating the perfect environment for root rot and you plants will do nothing. Your roots shouldn't be brown and slimy.

Do you have an air gape between your mesh pot and the solution, should be approx 50mm?

What size(volume) air supply pump do you have for your aeration?

The brown in the video looked more like nutrient staining then rot to me. Usually they would have a slimier look to them. His roots look like dental floss which is what you want.

I reckon because your bucket is reasonably small, it's just had a hiccup with nutrient uptake and is showing deficiency (maybe pH was off a bit)

Definitely cover lid up, definitely keep temps low, definitely monitor water level and EC to know how much they're drinking.

Good luck mate.

PS. The rusting looks like you'll need calmag additive

They'll be ok at 23 but would definitely thrive if temps were lower. As long as you have plenty of air pumping you should survive a grow at 23 if necessary.
