the only thing k9 

don't just rely on the one product for pest & pathogen management 

you need to mix it up with other things like neem , silica , aloe ect ect

So would the diatomite be beneficial for pests then too? Doesn't that make silica available

yes but you'd want to extract the silica to mix with water & add to a spray bottle in this case so you can foliar spray it 

easier to get nts's potassium silicate https://shop.nutri-tech.com.au/products/potassium-silicate or a lill harder use horsetail to extract silica

check out the benefits from the link above 

you can use neem one day , king hit the next spray day ect ect 

but you can also use silica & aloe as a emulsifier for essential oils like neem or rosemary or thyme
