itchybromusic Posted October 17, 2018 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2018 [emoji108] [emoji106] It’s just trying to understand the full circle of the benefits of Organics in Canna Growing, it’s something we could all learn from to gain even more quality in your harvest,, eg: 4 year live soil, bio organic etc [emoji106] I’ll get there one day I hope, and that’s thank you to everyone on here[emoji108] [emoji106] Also there seems to be something about it quality’s and taste wise, that you just can’t beat ,,, Mmmm [emoji108][emoji3]mostly about diversity Kloud like with companion planting or cover cropping , it's about having many diff companion plants not just the one or two , in a backyard they say around 10% of plants , food or flower , need to be beneficial plants like scent masking plants for instance , limonene , a monoterpene , the lemon smell is good at deterring bugs but you can't just put that in & think that's all that needs doing as an idea , check this , now might not have all my facts spot on here but why let that stand in the way of a good story Ireland started growing potatoes around mid to late 1500's , Ireland were struggling to build on there community because of the weather & the difficulties in growing food , an explorer saw potatoes growing in Peru i think & noticed in wetter regions they grew well But they also grew well in hot dry & humid areas which seem to mean they would grow anywhere & if Ireland could grow them there food stocks would increase & so would there population they started growing them & they did do well for a while the only issue was they had not grown them in the way they were grown in Peru , in Peru they grew many varieties in the one field & when it came time to harvest they dug them up & sorted them once they could see what they were , Ireland however decided they only liked one or two varieties & only grew what they liked see where this is going , Peru had a " Diverse " selection of potatoes where Ireland didn't , this single move / choice killed millionsof people , in Peru the diversity kept everything in check , where one kind of potato was susceptible to a pest or pathogen another kind of potato was resistant to those same pests of pathogens keeping each other protected , Ireland however lost that protectionwith the loss of the diversity , anyway many people died B4 they could workout where the prob was coming from , the potatoes there's more detail than that but that's just a long way of saying more diversity , the only guys to do mono cropping well = the growing of one plant on mass is the chem guys / monsato , where they sterilize everything from the top of the plant to the bottom of the root system & everything in between , stopping all bugs & pathogens from having any interest in invading the crop or living in the soil 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
