Amount of weight loss during dry?

Heya all.

 

Just want to know if there is a 'standard' or rule of thumb to go by when figuring out how much weight a buds will loose during drying, or is it dependant or other factors like bud density or anything else like that. or it's safe to say like 20% or 10% etc etc?

Depends on a lot of things how dense the nugs are, how quick you dry them, how you dry them, a lot of factors

you can lose up to 50% in weight sometimes, a lot of factors as xstrain says

average from wet weight to dry weight around 15% dry total 

 

checkout the greenhouse seed co vids on there strains they weigh it all up 

 

ps also depends on what you call dry

I would say you loose about 75-80% of the weight depending on strain sometimes more ... so for example you grow 10 oz of wet bed you might be lucky to get 2 oz, no one talks wet oz weight there is to many variables

.. I am a billy goat.  my hair is usually wet with my own urine, so yeah it weighs a fair bit?

For the 4 little photo plants I chopped last month (10 weeks flower, Sthn Star Seeds Iron Duke), wet weight after trimming & hanging on stems was 614g, dry weight of buds minus stems 10 days later was 155g so about 25%. There was 60g of wet sugar leaves & a few fluffy popcorn-y buds trimmed before hanging.

Bingo I agree, you lose about 60-80% of your wet weight, before dried
