Nutrients advice for a new soil grower

Recommended Posts

If you want simple and effective ,then piss off the coco and go perlite with 1/3 vermiculite.

No need to worry if its the right time to water or not.

Meaning you can water as often as you want ,or just water every second day if you want.

Can't get more simple .coco changes its chemical composition .its not even a true hydro medium

I got perlite and vermiculite on its way. I was gonna mix 50/50 or am I better with 70/30?

evatil I doubt youll need vermiculite if your throwing in coco and compost.

Couldn't hurt though, right? Maybe .5 in my ratio of it or .5 the perlite. Watched a video of brownguy420's on Itchy's recommendation and he said if you're going to go organic and constantly mulch and compost the pots with green manure and lucerne to keep it active and healthy, you should add less perlite and more vermiculite. He also uses some kind of hulled rice seeds or barley seeds or something and add that in for aeration. It sticks around for a bit too. Too much perlite in a no-till pot can cause the perlite to compact at the bottom of the pot and it's like cement. So, I guess the less perlite more vermiculite would be a better option...
