Help on Curing

Recommended Posts

hey snitz, as long as your buds are dry before jarring and curing you shouldn't have to worry about mould to much but in saying that daily checks should be carried out just to be sure, i always only fill my jars and bags 3/4 full if you do that it means when you open them to burp them theres plenty of room for fresh air to get in and makes it easier to rotate them by just giving it a gentle turn while there in the jar or if its a bag theres room for you to get your hand in there and give the buds a turn over moving buds on the bottom to the top, cheers,,,GQ

Hey Snitzel,

The general rule I use is hang to dry, something like this

In the heat of the day you'll possibly find that the leaves can go a bit crunchie, but at night the moisture from the stems will rehydrate the leaves.

When the leaves are crispy dry on the stem, I then remove them from the stem and keep in corrugated cardboard boxes like this

Then when the stems snap cleanly, they are 95-99% dry and I jar them up

Now I say 95-99 and not 100% dry, there is still some moisture present. Each day I 'burp' the jars, open them up and allow any residual moisture evaporate, then seal them up, then 'burp' them again the next day. I do this for a few weeks.

From here I seal them up in tins, like this

or this

This keeps them 100% light proof, as the light breaks down the cannabinoids. Again burping the tins(and testing for quality lol ) regularly

So basically that's what I do.

Hope it helps
