Red on the stem

Recommended Posts

Hey all ...

As some of you know my friend started a couple plants 3 - 5 weeks ago ... looks like we got 3 females and one strange looking one ( suspected hermie or male ) well he asked me to give him some indoor nutrients ( GROWRITE 2 part nutes ) and he fed it to his plants twice and lots of it ... B) well the plants seem to love it and have grown vigorously in the last week but one of thems got red hairs growing on two of the branches ( first set of leaves from the top ). Ohh i forgot to mention he's growing in soil from the backyard and thats it nothing else besides from 2 feeds of indoor nutes and plain water.

All the seeds are bagseeds too ... Is this a strain thing or some problem ?

~ peace out :thumbsup

hey

I think its how cold it got has at night, i have a fair few out near the blue mountains and almost all of them put out 3-5 weeks ago have blood red pistols and red or purple stems.. They did go thru almost a week of 2 to -2 degrees. So personally i think they were put out a bit too early and got frost so not strain or problem as such :scratchin

If the guy has used growrite in conjunction with residual fertilisers in his soil mix then he could have an over-fertilisation problem and should flush if the plants start to show nutrient burn on the leaves, growrite is designed for hydro systems and not soil. I would agree with stonedas though as the other plants would usually be showing signs of over-fertilisation too if it was that, is the effected plant near the intake vent or one of the fans?

I would recommend they are transplanted into a good quality potting mix as soon as possible, normal soil is not good in pots.
