Cloning need help

Recommended Posts

Hey X,

Itchybro is a member here who has sooo much knowledge about natural/organic growing and he can tell u exactly what to do to make the aloe cloning gel. I think u need to mix some kelp meal into the inner gel of the aloe leaf or something. Send itchybro a pm or go and read my original post titled ‘canna vs Seasol’ as he left the recipe in the comments there [emoji108]

I’ve only cloned once, straight into soil and had 100% success. I used clonex (purple), dipped my cuttings and stuck them straight into osmocote seed raising & cutting mix. Then I put them in a mini greenhouse ($50 at Bunnings) and mist sprayed them with seasol every day. Make sure u spray the leaves and the soil, as the plant can take it in thru the leaves at this stage since it has no roots yet. make sure u watch a couple of vids on clone cuttings too.

Good luck! GG

I use an aeroponics cloner, set and forget [emoji23] dip it in rooting hormone and then into the cloner they go. I also have a product called ozitonic but haven't tried it on canna yet.attachicon.gifSnapchat-482869042

Good post and I've read shroomys post which was referred too.

My question/problem is about lighting for the clones. I'd be planning to cut for a clone about 3 weeks from end of flower. I've only got one room so it would be set to 12/12 lighting. Would this work? Could the clone still root with 12/12 lighting? I don't mind if it takes longer to root because of reduced light. After my flowering finishes I'd switch back to 18/6.

Would love to hear opinions and either way I think I'd still give it a bash, nothing to lose.

i would say your clones will still wanna flower with 12/12 lighting, more energy going into flower production  then roots,

3 weeks from  harvest is a bit late to be taking clones imo

but you still can i suppose,, just will take a lot longer  to revert back to veg, but with 18/6 or  even 24/0 lighting

i would be using a fluro light for cloning aswell, less heat, less stress on the clone,

Monster cropping, or taking clones while in flower will have a very slim success rate. Usually when people do it they'll take several clones because of this. I'm having a crack at a couple of clones from a mates plant that only just started flowering, and I am not holding my breath. I've had failure with trying it in the past also. Good luck MLG hope it works for you

Thanks all. I'll give it a go anyway. Nothing to lose. I just don't have another room where I could put them in a proper veg light cycle. Would outside at this time of year put them in flower as well?

i would say yes...

depending on how many clones you take but

a simple desk lamp with a 3000k bulb with do for lighting on 18/6 or 24/0

just enough light to keep them ticking over until you have finished in your flower room

...but at 3weeks before harvest, i think your gonna struggle...

i would be taking cutting now...

I put my clones in a kitchen cupboard under a small T5 fluro. No exhaust fans. You certainly don’t need much space.
