Mucked up SCROGging

Recommended Posts

The trouble i have with my kief spinner is that the green thaws out before all the thricomes have been knocked off. meaning i have to get it out re-bag it and refreeze a few times. Which is a pain in the neck. So what's been on my mind for the last couple of years is making a spinner inside a chest freezer. I don't know if I'll ever get around to it, but if anyone wants to steel my idea and make one, please do and post your results. And if you commercialise it, cut me in. ;) .

Jeebus, Knightrider??? now your showing your age lol lol lol PMSL

Do you ever chuck dry ice in the tumbler to try keep things as cool as possible??

No. The dry ice also freezes the fibres of the fabric, making it brittle. Little bits of nylon thru the hash is the last thing you want IMO lol

The one thing I have confirmed and learnt  on my current grow is multi strain growing is for newbs and idiots in tents on auto water systems
I have some stretching sativa fuckers giving me issues with height and getting burned from too many nutes.
Why too many nutes?
On the same auto water system I have two indicas. I'm feeding them the same 3/4 strength that is burning the sativa and just before I change the reservoir I hand feed the indica a full strength solution.
That indica is running with an ec of 2.5 and they still aren't burning.
If I feed the sativa at much more than 1 to 1.5 ec they burn.

I've never had such difference in the strains, never again, it will be sativa in summer and indica in winter from now

2.5 isn't that a tad bit high regardless if they can handle it?

1 or 1.5 should be sufficient for both

I always like at least 1 sat or sat hybrid a grow,

I put them on 1 side or place the sats around edges n indys at front

I heard of ppl having that type of issue

But sometimes less is more

I feed the plants until I see a sign of them burning.

Even at at ec of 2.5, no burn at all. They look fantastic.

i've only been growing indoors for about 3 years and thought that was how you did, work out what they can take and keep giving it too them?

I cannot smoke the buds from that little indica.

They are too strong. It took me forever to cure them and they are rock hard.

My mate took some clones of it, because he loves it but I'll let it die out and look for something else to compliment the sativa in off grows

He will smoke 2 cones of that little indica is a session or 4 of my everyday smoke.

i'm just too old for that now, lol

You could try snapping/bending all the stems to flatten them down on the net. Where you snap will just form a knuckle and wont affect the plants then jack the power back up to finish them quickly.

Next time turn them earlier bro. They double in height once you go to flower.

How high above the plants were the lights in veg? They look like they really stretched early if you can stand under them? When setting your lights put your hand on the tallest point then bring the light down till it starts to get hot on the back of your hand then back it off an inch or 2.

Hi all

I mucked up SCROGging my plants, see below pics .. and have my two lights now attached directly to the top support bar of my tent. I have two weeks left 'till harvest (I suspect longer due to all plants still having clear trichs) and am unable to lower my plants again, so have turned the ballast down to '400W' instead of 'super' setting I would've had them on if plants were not so close to lights. I have 2 x 600W HPS Cultiv8 lights .. with fans running both top and bottom of tent.

The pic doesn't show it well, but I can stand up under them, I'm 168 tall .. I need a step ladder to see the tops - you can laugh if you want to.

Anyway, I'd really appreciate some input about the lighting situation I have .. when I had them running at '600W' or 'Super' I was getting a bit of burn happening. However, I also at the time had a substantial build-up of nutes in all the plants, so this could've been nute burn instead as it was mostly at tips of leaves (I can't really tell the difference yet). At the moment it appears that some buds are shorter, fatter and lucious (Hiydrow & CBD Supreme) but most buds on my Blueberry are tall and a bit straggly. I'm unsure if this is just they way buds should be on this particular plant, or whether I am just slowly torturing it. This plant also had the most build-up of nutes prior to flushing it properly, it's now only getting less than half the nutes it was previously, with run-off readings now making sense. Would you recommend bumping the lights back up to '600W', or would that be overkill. I'm suspecting I should just suck it and see, but am getting nervous as my plants are tough, but shouldn't press my luck thing. Below pic of tall skinny blueberry bud.

What about trying to cut the bottom of the pots out and lay them in a low tray so it can hold the soil and water when feeding
