Potassium

Hi,

New to the forum. Haven't grown in a while but have built a greenhouse out of my old chook pen and am hoping to get a decent grown in this season. I have a question about potassium. I used to use condy's crystals (potassium permanganate) on my girls when they were flowering which made a noticeable difference. Question is am I better off using potash to get the potassium my girls require or is condy's crystals suffice or both? Any feedback is appreciated.

sulfate of potash for sure, potassium permanganate is not a fertilizer

not sure that the KMnO4 is available to the plants. not likely. go the potash

more P & K then add compost as a top dress 

small amounts monthly while mulching 

 

1) Compost application should increase soil organic matter and improve tilth

2) Nitrogen contribution likely to be modest, whereas the P and K contribution may be excessive

 

kelp meal is another you can use
