Revolution is working really well for me with multiple animals and it also treats worms etc. If I have to treat a surface or use it in the garden I opt for Diatomaceous Earth. It comes in multiple grades of fineness depending on your need, it's natural, kills fleas and any small insects like ants. It's also great in the garden and turns into a nice moss if you leave it on a soil surface like mulch. My Riberry bush has a great moss cover from the Diatomaceous Earth and it helps keep bugs and weeds out, and moisture in. You can also put small amounts of it in your pet's food to help kill worms and rub it on the pet to kill fleas however keep an eye on the pet's skin quality if you're doing that as it can also dry it out if the animal is already having issues (like flea allergy dermatitis). When I have had an infestation in the house I've done a flea bomb in combination with other things you've already tried like cleaning their bedding etc.
