The famous Mars II Led lights discontinued after many successful years

Recommended Posts

Mars has released a video saying they will no longer be making the Mars II series lights. i donno how they will compete with there other models they are either poor models or very expensive

They are taking away that great budget light that produces good results they said in the video its out dated been running for 7 or 8 years and many customers are asking them to continue to sell the Mars II models

Why on earth would u discontinue something that has a market, is affordable, does a good job that it was designed to do?

1 thing I don't think many ppl take into consideration when purchasing any light is the skill of the person growing

You could 3 ppl the same lights and setup, all identified at the start

By time harvest comes round the grower with the greater skill set is gonna produce more yield with bigger buds

So when choosing your light say to yourself , what ievel am I , if your a beginner or not grown much that simpler that set up ie hPs

If you r more advanced u may be able to cope with led better

The ppl demonstrating these grows are very experienced, u gotta take this into consideration

Mac i agree the LED's do take a fair bit of refining especially being used in colder months generally u need to reverse most things to a HPS grow to have a successful outcome but in saying that if u do the research u can bung some decent buds out with these lights the buds don't grow rock hard but u still get a nice yield and smoke

if u want to smash something out first run easily than HPS, MH, CMH is better and more forgiving most of the year round, LED is still a good option thru summer and cooler months if u can provide heat cheaply otherwise the trade off of heating the room over self heating from a HPS is a no winner

RIP Mars II. Mine hasn't missed a beat in 3 years and I will probably use it a bit longer. All diodes intact. Great light.

However, if I was buying a LED tomorrow it wouldn't be a mars II. I think technology has moved on. So have I. Mars had it's place as a cheap inro LED light that was as good or better than many at the time.but now there are better options. More expensive too, but for something that lasts half a decade without changing a bulb, I am prepared to pay a bit more.
