Seed to Seedling help

 Hey guys

 

I realize this might be an extremely stupid question but i just want to make sure im taking the right steps... i was just wondering what exactly should i put my germinated seed into? a small seedling pot/cup or just shove it into a main pot? Also what mix should i have for both of these pots if needed?  Please let me know if any of these ingredients i purchased will or will not work and the steps i should take from seed to seedling! thank you for your guys time!

If you plant directly into the final pot your plant will take longer to veg. As for the rest I can't say, I haven't stuffed that up yet.

I cant see why transplanting autos would be a problem, as long as your gentle and dont damage the roots when transplanting should be fine. Though ive never growen autos, so if im wrong someone please jump in.

As for starting them i like to use jiffy cubes , just water for the first week or so then seedling strength nutes, i use cannas range they have an online nute calculator at growguide.info, helped me a lot when first starting [emoji16]

Those little seedling pots can help protect young plant from bugs in the ground that might eat the seed. I've heard the same about not transplanting autos. I think because if it goes into shock and takes a couple weeks to recover then you've lost a lot of grow time, given they grow so quick...but that's just hearsay I've never transplanted an auto and I guess if your careful like others say then it will be fine

root it , rapid rooters , root riots 

aka peat plugs , they say all these brand plugs are made in the same factory

 

perfect air to water , pre made hole for seeds at a depth perfect for air to water within the plug 

 

the hole is also a depth gauge for cuttings / clones , you put the end of the clone in the hole , slide 

your fingers down the stem till you touch the plug , pull cut back out & between the end of your fingers

& the bottom of the cut is the depth to push the cut in the plug beside the hole for best contact on the stem 

unless your cut is thick enough to fill the hole itself otherwise the hole is for seeds 

 

the hole also does a good job at pulling the seed shell off the seedling as it pops it's head up

most of the time

If you want try 'Starter soak'. My seedlings always look great from the word go.
