First time grow looking for help

Recommended Posts

Ok. I want to try grow one outdoor plant, but - im the the first to put my hand up and say i literally have near to no experience with gardening, i've watched as many tutorials as i possibly can but im still confused by alot of things, are there like any aussie tutorials or guides to teach me how to completely grow from seed to harvest? like what to do, what to put in it and when to do so? Im confused about alot of the topping and tipping parts of growing aswell, I'd really appreciate the help!

Ps: is it not too late to grow this time of the year in about a week?

- Thanks!

Welcome aboard dark web. Now is a good time to put some seeds in. Have a read through some grow diaries and formulate a plan, there are many complete diaries from long time growers, new growers and everything in between. When you have some specific questions feel free to ask.

Hey dark, not too late. You'll just get a short vegetative stage bit doesn't make it not worthwhile. It's been 20 years since I've grown so basically a new grower myself. You could go roind in circles forever taking everyone's advice on growing nuances. Anyone is free to didpute me but as long as you:

1. Don't over-fertilise

2. Don't over-water

3. Grow in a reasonable, free draining soil

4. Position in a spot with a reasonable amount of the days sunlight

You shouldn't go too far wrong.

My soil is about 20% perlite, 50% potting medium and the rest made up of compost and cow/chicken manures.. a bit of blood and bone and a sprinkle of lime. That's it.

I fertilise weekly with 20ml Nitrosol/20ml Seasol in 9L. Water 1 to 2 times per week.

Look forward to seeing your progress.

hey mate i just went out and bought all the supplies above! I have my seeds but im just weary with jumping right into seedling stage without knowing the do's and don'ts, would you mind letting me know the steps i should do from now? should i just plant the seed into a seedling pot then transplant a few weeks later into a bigger main pot with exact steps above? and what nutrients/soil/compost mix should the seedling pot have? (sorry for my extremely shit grammar!

PS: I also brought some seed raising mix

cheers!

Don't go overboard dude.. it's just a weed ;). I use jiffy pots and plant them into a pot when established. I also soak the seeds overnight before sowing to start germination.

Not being funny but just get on with it, you'll work it out mate.
