Bike club links to SA drug seizures

A major drug syndicate raided in the western suburbs has strong links to an

outlaw motorcycle club, South Australian police alleged yesterday.

Eight houses around Adelaide were raided in 16 hours and more than 60 cannabis plants, 14kg of dried high-quality cannabis, steroids, amphetamines and other illicit

drugs were seized. Police also found three stolen motorcycles.

Three men were arrested - two from Hope Valley and one from Croydon - and

police were expecting to make two more arrests.

The information which triggered the raids came from a call to Crime Stoppers on Tuesday night, Superintendent Barry Lewis said.

"The Crime Stoppers tip-off led us to an address, the rest was due to detectives," Supt Lewis said.

"There was other information there (at the first address) linking the other

addresses, but for experience of the detectives this could have been

overlooked..

"It's one syndicate - a whole network of people operating illegally - that have now been severely disrupted.

"We are pursuing a line of motorcycle members. These are associates and we're pursuing that line of inquiry."

The accused club was not made known.
